Eating nuts seems to be a traditional part of any holiday celebration in our family. Pecan stuffing is a part of that celebration. The pecans provide a rich nutty flavor to the stuffing. Often we will eat it in a half potato and half bread version. With the potato recipe our pecan stuffing mix is a gluten free dish for you to enjoy!
Pecan Stuffing Mix - 40grams, No MSG, Gluten Free when made with Potatoes!
Bread Stuffing Instructions: Prepare Bread: Cut 1/2 loaf of bread into cubes. Allow to dry 1/2 day. Combine Spice Mixture, 2 Tblsp (50ml) Butter, and 3/4 to 7/8 Cup (170 ml - 200 ml) Water. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Mix with prepared bread. Stuff into chicken or turkey and cook.
Potato Stuffing Instructions: Prepare Potato: Boil and mash 1 lb (454g) potatoes (about 4 medium potatoes). Combine Spice Mixture, 2 Tblsp (50ml) Butter, and 3/4 to 7/8 Cup (170 ml - 200 ml) Water. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Mix with mashed potato. Stuff into chicken or turkey and cook.
Yield: 1 pkg for 5-6 lb (2.5-2.7kg) chicken , 2 pkg for 10-12 lb (4.5–5.5kg) chicken.
Farmer John’s Own Recipe - Bacon Wraps
1 Pkg of Farmer John’s Stuffing Mixture
1 lb (454 g) Bacon, Maple bacon is very good!
1/2 loaf Bread or 4 Medium Potatoes.
Prepare stuffing as per instructions on this package. Wrap 1/2 slice of bacon around 2 Tblsp (50ml) of stuffing. Place the bacon wraps around a chicken that has almost finished its baking and bake for 25 minutes. Serve warm. They are delicious!
