Traditional Savory Potato Stuffing

This recipe will make enough stuffing for a small chicken. Double the recipe if you are stuffing a turkey.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup, (60 g) butter
1/4 cup (125 ml) chopped onions
1/4 cup (125 ml) chopped celery
2 Tablespoons (9 g) Farmer John's Summer Savory
1/2 Tsp (2 ml) salt,
½ Tsp (2 ml) black pepper
2-3 lbs (1 kg) potato, diced, boiled and mashed
Method:
- In a large frying pan, melt butter over medium heat
- Sauté onions, celery, summer savory, salt and pepper until tender
- Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add the mashed potato and mix well
- Stuff the turkey or chicken with the mixture immediately before cooking. Do not stuff and allow the turkey to sit around
- Roast in 350 F oven (approx. 20 minutes per pound)
- After roasting, scoop out cooked stuffing and serve as a side dish for your meal
Approximate total time: 15 minutes + roasting time
