Traditional Savory Potato Stuffing

This recipe will make enough stuffing for a small chicken. Double the recipe if you are stuffing a turkey.

1/4 cup, (60 g) butter
1/4 cup (125 ml) chopped onions
1/4 cup (125 ml) chopped celery
2 Tablespoons (9 g) Farmer John's Summer Savory
1/2 Tsp (2 ml) salt,
½ Tsp (2 ml) black pepper
2-3 lbs (1 kg) potato, diced, boiled and mashed 


  1. In a large frying pan, melt butter over medium heat
  2. Sauté onions, celery, summer savory, salt and pepper until tender
  3. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add the mashed potato and mix well
  4. Stuff the turkey or chicken with the mixture immediately before cooking. Do not stuff and allow the turkey to sit around
  5. Roast in 350 F oven (approx. 20 minutes per pound)
  6. After roasting, scoop out cooked stuffing and serve as a side dish for your meal

Approximate total time: 15 minutes + roasting time
Serves: 4-6
