A good wholesome chili made with natural ingredients and our spice mix, warms the soul and provides a nutritious and hearty meal. Serve with our Farmer John’s Cornbread to satisfy your hungry crew.
Chili Recipe:
Directions: In a large frying pan, cook 1 lb.(500 g) lean ground beef on medium heat (375F) until meat is browned. Stir in 1 (398ml) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed; 1 (540 ml) can chopped tomatoes; 1 (213ml) tomato sauce and 1 package of Farmer John’s Maritime Chili Mix. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
Alternate Meatless Chili Recipe:
Directions: In a large saucepan or Dutch oven cook 1 (540ml) can of chick peas, drained and rinsed; 1 (398ml) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed; 1 (540ml) can chopped tomatoes; 1 (213ml) can tomato sauce and 1 package of Farmer John’s Maritime Chili Mix. Bring up to a simmer and cook uncovered for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
